Altar Guild

The purpose of the Altar Guild is to reverently care for the Altar and sanctuary and prepare for Eucharist. Members work with clergy on all services during the church year including weddings and funerals. It is our goal that our service will enhance the worship experience for all who come to St. Paul's.

Altar Guild duties include caring for Altar linens, vessels, candles, flowers, banners, and clergy vestments. The Alter Guild seeks to ensure that communion preparations are in place so that Eucharist can be celebrated without distraction.

Altar Guild members are divided into teams and serve approximately four hours per month. They meet three to four times a year for fellowship and to share information. Altar Guild members bring a love of the Church and the desire to serve quietly behind the scenes, as well as working as a team and gaining new friendships.

St. Anne's Guild
stannes15

St. Anne’s Guild has been active in St. Paul’s since 1937, where it was founded as a women’s service group. Their mission statement is “Enriching Lives through Service, Learning and Fellowship.” St. Anne’s ministry includes providing receptions following memorial services as requested by families of the deceased. Guild members work together to raise funds for causes important to the St. Paul’s community and meaningful to its members. Proceeds from these events are donated to support helping agencies at St. Paul’s and in the greater Salem community.

St. Anne’s members are multi-talented, multi-taskers, excellent bakers, expert organizers of events, professional women, and homemakers. All of these combined talents make for a truly exceptional group of women whose ministry is to serve St. Paul’s church by knowing Christ and making Him known. All women of the church are welcome.

St. Joseph's Guild (Woodcutters) gathers every Wednesday morning to chop firewood as well as to enjoy the fresh air and each other’s company. The woodcutters receive donated wood that they cut, split, and dry. Our wood is stored at two wood lots, the space is donated. We sell some of our wood and give away some as well.
