The purpose of the Altar Guild is to reverently care for the Altar and sanctuary and prepare for Eucharist. Members work with clergy on all services during the church year including weddings and funerals. It is our goal that that our service will enhance the worship experience for all who come to St. Paul's.
Altar Guild duties include caring for Altar linens, vessels, candles, flowers, banners and clergy vestments. We seek to ensure that communion preparations are in place so that Eucharist can be celebrated without distraction.
Altar Guild members are divided into teams and serve approximately four hours per month. We meet three to four times a year for fellowship and to share information. Altar Guild members bring a love of the Church and the desire to serve quietly behind the scenes, as well as working as a team and gaining new friendships.
There are currently 21 members of the Altar Guild.
